All Care auction raises record $70G

The Daily Item of Lynn / December 5, 2007

The bidding opened at 6:30 PM on Thursday, November 8, 2007, at the Danversport Yacht Club when 300 guests actively supported All Care Hospice. This year’s 6th Annual Charity Wine Tasting & Auction generated $70,000, a record-breaking success that surpassed last year by 10%. With over 350 donors and 35 sponsors, the evening boasted high bids and excited winners.

Guests enjoyed a sampling of wines and hors d’oeuvres while perusing over 120 silent auction items in the grand ballroom varying from Boston sports tickets, to get-a-ways, original fine art and priceless memorabilia.

This year’s Live Auction items included an ultra-luxurious trip to Trinity Villa at the Tryall Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica, reaping the highest bid of the night. Another highlight of the evening was the fast and furious bidding that climbed over $1,000 for an autographed baseball by World Series MVP Mike Lowell coupled with Red Sox box seats.

“In addition to welcoming many new sponsors and high bidders from the North Shore community, we were thrilled with the outcome of the evening,” said All Care VNA & Hospice President and CEO Shawn Potter.

Salem Five Charitable Foundation, the Benefactor and Event Underwriter, sponsored the night for the sixth consecutive year. Our Partners in Caring; Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Byram Healthcare, Farquhar & Black Insurance Agencies, Ronald T. Plotka, D.D.S., P.C., Prime Motor Group, and Willow Laboratories as well as our Partners in Healing; Advance Notice, Beverly Medical Supplies, Inc., Borislow Insurance, Mayor Clancy of Lynn, Community Credit Union of Lynn, Lynn Housing Authority and Neighborhood Development, McKesson, New England Copy Specialists, Inc., and Smith & Sowalsky were all strong supporters of the event.
